well, i have a fender pro junior, and i´m poor, and one friend suggested me to add a line-out to the pre-amp section - to instantly have a valve pre-amp at hand that i can use to record guitars directly and stuff. i will not do it, but i just wanted to know if it could work well , or if it can affect negatively the amp.
thanks!..
Adding a line-out to a Pro Junior - bad idea?
2Easy for a decent tech to do.
Wouldn't affect the amp sonically.

3It wouldn't be that much use in my opinion. It would not really reflect the sound of the amp.
DI electric guitar tends to sound shite. I suppose it might be ok for some bass.

my idea is to DI the electric guitar and then process it with amplitube or guitar rig.. (i´m a digital guy)
and yeah perhaps recording bass because i have the shittiest pre-amps ever. (behringer mixer anyone?)

Then why bother adding the line out to the Fender? You could just use a regular DI box. If you take a line out after the Pre it will already have a load of tone shaping and distortion on it, and that's not the signal those digital amp models are expecting to see.
It might sound cool, of course, but if you want to get your actual sound from Amplitube / Guitar rig but play through the Fender at the same time then a DI box followed by a 'neutral' pre would seem a better option.
Am I missing something?

6sorry i didn´t put it correctly. change "to di the electric guitar" with "record from the fender to the computer".
and yup, they told me it sounds great. also, as i said before, i can´t buy tons of gear and if i can have some sort of a 'bonus' pre-amp, it might be useful for other applications (recording bass, maybe vocals? mm..)
