I saw Duane Denison with Hank on tour many years ago. Great show. I think he lives up to his grandfather's legacy ( not a tough act to follow). Not Crap.

Isn't there a record* that features Hanks I, II & III all singing the same songs together?

Townes Van Zandt mentioned something about this, when I saw him live, and then promptly fell about laughing.

(possibly titled The Three Hanks)

This makes me jealous. Cheers to seeing the man live in concert.

Re Hank III, he's cool. Even cooler is the band Hank IV. No relations whatsoever to the Williams pedigree, but they are a great live rock band.

Welcome back Hector!

I haven't heard much from Hank III, but the music to my ears seems really kinda bland..he's got a good attitude and image and all, but doesn't seem to have the songwriting chops to back it up.

Don't tell him I said that though!

I saw Hank III a few weeks ago -- his "acoustic country" set was easily the loudest acoustic performance I've ever heard, and while his "let's get fuckin' drunk and high and crazy" vibe gets a bit much after a while, he can sing real good and his band absolutely hauls ass. The thrash metal set from Assjack didn't move me as much, but I'll grant they're a hell of a tight band and they kicked it out hard. Hank III does a hell of a hair spin, too, best I've seen in a while. I understand while some folks think he's a cheeseball, but he works hard on stage and he's obviously not fucking around -- he's dead serious about both his country and his metal stuff, and he can write a good song when he's of a mind. He's also not half as embarassing as his dad. I say Not Crap.

great. he just played here a couple weeks ago. my boyfriend tells this story where he saw hank play live one time and he started playing a hank williams sr song to satisfy the crowd (must be sad). so he starts with it and apparently the whole crowd goes silent and garry (my homepiece) said it was almost like a ghost was in the room. i mean really really creepy they sounded and looked so absurdly alike. then hank williams has the same realization or just picked up on the vibe and starts going "FUCK THIS!" quits playing and starts having some kind of panic attack.

also, you should check out his myspace site. it sucks incredibly bad..

If this cheesy cliche dipshit scumbag metal burnout douche didn't call himself Hank III he'd be working at a gas station. Noone would give even a tiny little shit. ZERO talent. The only songs that sound anywhere near decent are songs that aren't his. His shit is fucking awful. Really fucking awful, like a band full of stoned 8th graders playing bad metal covers.
Why on earth people go see this cocksucker play is beyond me. I hate this dumb motherfucker with a passion.
When I say dumb, I mean DUMB as a block of fucking wood. Spend five minutes in a room with this dimwit and you'll understand.
Did I mention I am not a fan?
