He was brilliant on Saturday Night Live, arguably next to Bill Murray the most talented on that show. Delirious is one of the best stand up acts ever. Perfect in films like 48 Hrs, Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop. The flip side are those kiddie movies he does now, too much cartoon voice over stuff and of course his "music" career. He lost his edge.

good stuff. eddie murphy singing "don't let me down hymietown" is genius. by "genius" i mean really funny.

Trading Places is my favorite Holiday movie. When they start churning out the seasonal media crapola, I take solace in the fact that Trading Places will de-crapiffy two hours of holiday programming.
I haven't heard or seen anything Eddie Murphy has done in the last decade... Disney movies, animated donkey voices, or whatever it is he's up to. So what.
