probably the best jazz bass player currently plying his trade. His work w/ Charles Gayle, David S Ware Quartet, Matthew Shipp, Peter Brotzmann, Cecil Taylor, etc, etc is incredible, esp recommended is any grouping where he is paired w/ Hamid Drake on drums (Fred Anderson's Blue Winter is a great recent example). I saw Parker and Drake play as a duo a couple months ago and they drove me up a fucking wall spending the first 30 minutes playing flute and hand drum, but the second they swtiched to bass and drums it was brilliant.
but so, William Parker, not crap

I almost bought that, but then noticed he was credited w/ flute on the back and decided to pass

?
I'm looking at it now as it sits in my lap and he is credited with bass, 8-string doson ngoni and percussion.
I could be wrong but none of that stuff spells flute.
