Ok, I feel pretty bold starting this thread. For one reason, cuz I bet one has already been started (lil help, Kerble). And for two, cuz it is just band spam.
But, I thought it would be good to start a thread (a one stop shop) for us to share our bands upcoming show with the EA folk. (Especially when it is my band!)
So here goes...
Tomorrow:
6/6/06
@ the
Elbo Room
with:
Bakelite 78
The Solace Bros
*joesepi* (me)
$5 cheap.
8pm
The Solace Bros are from Tucson and have members of all sorts of previous bands, including Treepeople.
Bakelite78 is old timey goodness.
*joesepi* (theband) totally sucks in the best way possible.
I sit here waiting to be lambasted

Is this just for Chicago shows, or should I take a stab at seeing if any EA board members are in Des Moines, IA? (Friday, June 23rd @ Hairy Mary's)

I think it should be for all locations, but maybe within a week of the show?
Guidelines anyone?

If any Wisconsinites are interested, tomorrow at 2PM I will be playing drums for Mr. Scott Free @
PrideFest. Scott Free primarily writes Elvis Costello-ish/Joe Jackson-esque pop music. Check out the headliners: Berlin, Martha Wash, and Bow Wow Wow. So gay. Bow Wow Wow was pretty incredible at their Empty Bottle performance many moons ago. Whatever. Anyway, if yer up for some sun, frivolity, and gaiety, please attend. We'd be more than happy to have you.
2PM
Miller Lite Pavilion
Henry W. Maier Festival Park
200 North Harbor Drive
Milwaukee, WI

Bottomless Pit
(ex-Silkworm) with
Eux Autres
Bottomless Pit was formed in the fall of 2005 by erstwhile Silkworm members Tim Midgett and Andy Cohen. Their longtime friends Chris Manfrin (Seam) and Brian Orchard (.22) complete the quartet. Spring 2006 finds the group playing "their blues"--soulful, emotionally intense, and often transcendent postpunk that is as inviting as it is bracing.

Bands play in that place? Good bands, such as your own? I find that... odd.
Yes, it was odd but I really liked the club itself. Very jazzy lounge like feel to it. Plus they gave me free beer and a free copy of the soundtrack for O Brother Where Art Thou. It also helped that we went over very well.
