Has anyone heard this yet?

I bought it over the weekend. I always hope that the planets will align and that Cheap Trick will FINALLY record the great record that they always could have done since the "glory years"...
It looks like this has happened. Man, "Rockford" is fucking awesome! Its like one catchy song after another. In fact, I'd say it is easily the best record they have done in over twenty years. Okay, so what is going to top those first three records, right? But nontheless, this new one is the strongest most convincing thing they have done since.."Dream Police", maybe. Yeah, I think so.
Strong ELO and Move (as well as..who are they called again?..oh yeah..the Beatles) influences, great production, and Robin Zander seems to go above and beyond the call of duty on this one..he still sounds amazing, one of the best singers ever. Yeah, that Linda Perry co-wrote a song, too. It is called "Perfect Stranger". Sorry kids, it is one of the best songs on here.
So yeah..if you like Cheap Trick as much as I do, then I think most of you would probably find this a very welcome addition.

I wasn't put up to this, either. I was just excited.

The record is great but the cover art is an embarassment.

I picked this up yesterday. AWESOME STUFF. Everytime they release a new record someone hypes it as a return to form. This one is the real deal.

Hooray for Cheap Trick, they are a national treasure! I can't wait to see them at the Beaver Dam fair in August.

Definitely their best record since Dream Police (hell, I probably like Rockford more). I've been listening to this one a lot lately.

Why is no one talking about it?

NOT CRAP!

I got it in June and overplayed it through July. A few more months, and I'll be able to listen to it again.

Not only Not Crap, but Excellent.

Anyone know if this was released on LP? I haven't been able to find a vinyl copy anywhere.

DonĀ“t have that one yet, but the s/t 1997 album is very good, return-to-form material to me.

I've already done "If It Takes A Lifetime" at a Kareoke contest. The cat who did a Journey song won, but I took second. This is what some people do for self-entertainment purposes when they are not trying to create ART.

Robin Zander is my specialty. If only I could come up with melodies that good on my own...maybe I wouldn't need to languish in obscurity and work the spit at pig roasts.
