I'm preparing to commit adultery with a co-worker. She's married; I'm not. I live with my girlfriend, though. We haven't been impulsive--we've tried to resolve our attraction in other ways. But we strongly prefer each other to our partners.

Anyway, adultery. Discuss.

What ways have you tried to, ah, resolve your attraction?

Prayer?

Funny. No, like Let's just be friends. Let's avoid each other. Let's try and be nicer to our respective partners. Let's not sit together anymore. If we do sit next to each other, our thighs can't be touching. Don't compliment me. Let's ask to work on seperate projects. Let's not email eachother at home every day. Let's not discuss certain subjects, like how attracted we are to each other, etc.

These situations seem to occur a lot in the workplace, and the reason for it is boredom.

I don't know if this is the case with you lovebirds, but if so, I'd advise you to leave it be. It's silly to invest in anything that grows out of boredom.

Watch some sleaze or something.

I don't know why you would post this stuff on an internet board such as this one. Are you having second thoughts?

Because I think you should. Be having them.

Seconded. Totally crap. 99.9999999999% of the time, it's bad behavior by selfish people. Grow up.

If this is the case, fucking grow up and leave. Not for each other, for yourselves.

There won't relief in this for very long.

Cheaters, I don't get you.

I was just in a similar situation, and you have to cut it off (your undesired relationship) right then and there. I've been foolish in the past as well, but however hard it may be, it has to be done. You're not being fair to the other person and what's the point of being in a relationship if one or both of you is/are no longer happy? I can guarantee you that it will be a bitch and 1/2, but prolonged feelings of resentment and bitterness will be reserved on yr other half's part.

Just my 0.02. Flick the switch.
