My initial plan was to hit up a friend in the area, but of course, everyone is going to be doing the same thing and chances are slim that there would be room.

So, myself and some other Forumers have been talking about getting some hotel rooms for the party. Is there any one build that folks are flocking to?

I think it would be rad if we got a whole mess of rooms at some poor unsuspecting hotel.

any ideas?

A string of hotel rooms must happen, because then we'll have multiple versions of this glorious road hotel phenomenon:

Only, you know, with better beer than what you see in that google image search result.

Don't know where would be good, but I'm down. I thought there was a hotel shortage due to another major event that weekend...

I am sure you saw this on the Hidout page:

Regarding Chicago hotel reservations...
There is a very large unrelated event also happening in Chicago, so hotel rooms are already going fast. If you are traveling from out of town and need a room, book one asap.

If all else fails, there is a tiny little motel 8 or 6 or something way up north by me (on the lake) that will probably not get booked. It's near the RedLine too, which could be convenient. And we could sit on the beach in the off hours dreaming up clever things to write here.

Assuming that my friends from Baltimore are still as unreliable as they were two weeks ago, then I should have some floor space available and also maybe a couch.
I'll know more in the next week or so.

there's a ton of hotsheet motels on the north end of lincoln avenue -- not too far from where i'm currently at, not terribly sketchy (just sketchy)... could be fun to take one of them over...

i would offer to put ppl up but i'm in the process of prepping my condo for sale - don't have any idea where i'll be living in chicago in september...

haha! i stayed at the stars motel on lincoln once. ghetto! (it's not in the ghetto at all, it's just kinda crappy)

the purple hotel is way nicer and only about a mile further up lincoln. theres also a holiday inn in skokie down the street.

all these options are like a 20-ish min drive to the hideout traffic depending.
