Hello,
I am the current intern at electrical. I'm also in a band called Monday's Hero and we're being allowed to stream our new full length album(for two days only) in its entirety at http://www.purevolume.com/mondayshero
I value the opinions of the members of this board, and would seriously like to hear comments about the music (be they good or bad).
Thanks for your time!
Steve
PS. I don't mean this as shameless self-promotion(just curiosity)...but, if need be, feel free to delete this message from the forum.

2Sounds like a great recording (taking into consideration the whole mp3 thing). who did it?
The whiney emo voice has had its day, and it should have been a much shorter day at that. The music is pretty good.
I'd stay for the whole show.

3Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to listen and respond. It was recorded at Coney Island Studios in Madison, WI. It was done by Wendy Schneider (Owner/Engineer) and Chris Broach. It was mastered by John Pines at Private Studios in Urbana, IL.
I'm really interested in what people have to say about the recording, because I didn't really like it at first...we exhaused the mixing process which hurt the sound I think. Anyway, John Pines did a good job and people seem to like the recording (although it was once said that math rock not done at electrical is lacking [with which I tend to agree])
Concerning the vocals...I'm the drummer and I'm sure the singer won't read this...thanks for the feedback!

4good stuff. i can't make much of an assessment of the fidelity of the recording since i'm listening on tiny little speakers and at a non-rock volume. that being said, everything is pretty clear without sounding cold, which is good. the bass is nicely present considering these crap speakers, but the kick drum isn't so much. which i'm guessing means most of its body is in a really deep frequency range. the attack on the kick sounds pretty flat, not so bright. which makes it hard to pick out at times. the guitars are certainly loud, and sometimes come across kinda gritty or thin, but again, speakers, mp3, etc.
the only thing i'm really having trouble with is picking out the kick. i wish i could hear this in cd format on a real stereo. it sounds really good considering my listening apparatus.
if you guys haven't played with haymarket riot, you should try and set it up. your sounds would go very well together i think, and you could probably both pick up part of each others fanbase.
congrats

5hey steve
I just listened to the first track (the higher resolution file) on a pair of JBL LSRs. I think the snare sounds great, as do the guitars. The overall mix sounds a little narrow but it's definately got impact. I personally like mixes with more front to back detail but that might not be appropriate for what you guys are after, and who gives a shit about what I like? I will agree about the kick though, it lacks definition and attack, especially for this type of music. Overall it sounds very good and I you guys got a good final product. Performance wise you guys are spot-on and solid. Congratulations indeed.
