i just received a call from a friend of mine, steve (user: reverantmeat) telling me that a mutal friend of ours has commited suicide. this friend was not only a friend to steve and i, but a member of this forum, and therefore a friend to all of us.
his name was noah simring, username: noah
he was in a band called ghostcloud which i recorded last march at the seaside lounge in brooklyn (charles, the owner, is also a member of this forum). steve played on some of their records, as did i.
noah will be sorely missed.
just thought you all should know.

3i was on my way to visit noah for his birthday, we had planned to record some things and do a performance for some people. i had made him a painting and a drawing. we talked just last night. he was excited.
it was on my way to the train to new york that i got a call from his mother.
she told me to turn around and go home and get my parents to call her. she was devasted.
to my great friend and bandmate noah.
this sounds pathetic, but man, i loved you. your music was beautiful and few have understood me like you. i really really miss you.
i spoke to noahs mother just recently and told her id make sure the records all get pressed. noah would have liked that.
i cant imagine how aaron must feel.

6Jeremy and Steve, I am so so sorry.
Noah wrote something on here a bit before I started posting that convinced me of the intelligence and warmth of this board. It left me betting he was much older than his picture betrayed him to be.
I can't begin to imagine the epic ache and confusion you feel along with his other friends and family.
I hope you treat yourselves and each other well through this.
Best,
Beth

8Jeremy, Steve, Aaron:
This is a terrible burden for you guys and everyone else who knew Noah.
I hope you know that we are all thinking of you and also that this is something you can weather eventually. It will be very difficult, but you can do it.
You'll probably need help--don't be afraid to ask for it, from here or wherever else you might need it.
