My definition of a planet:
1.Is roughly spherical in shape as a result of accretion.
2.Primary rotation is around the sun.

I think this is a pretty good definition.

I think it would be wrong to demote Pluto at this point. We should adopt something similar to how the miliatry phases out a rank; they simply stop promoting to that rank and those in it eventually promote or retire.

Let Pluto keep it's planet rank and don't promote anyone else. Eventually Pluto will just go away.

Dude, no one's gonna be able to remember a 50-word mnemonic device.

The IAU decided it's still a planet.

The Xena quasi-planet needs to be renamed. Stay with the program and name it Minerva or Proserpine. If the powers that be want to get funny, then name it Shamu, Joan Rivers, Rickey Henderson, or Manneken Pis. Xena's a little too middle of the road for a planet.

I like the ranking idea. It makes us sound like we're future people.
