not too long ago I watched all the episodes over a weekend, awesome, awesome, not crap, etc, etc

alos good: Bottom (w/ rik mayal and ade edmondson)

not even close to crap. one of the best tv shows ever. and that includes *future* tv shows!

Whenever I'm stuck in a situation, like a party with my girlfriend's co-workers, and I've had a few drinks and have exhausted all polite conversation, I inevitably find myself stomping around like Vyvyan muttering "Bored bored bored bored."

This, and I haven't even seen any episodes in 10 years.

and a song that should be covered, without question. "DR MARTENS, DR MARTENS, DR MARTENS BOOTS!" i can barely remember that song, actually, but i do distinctly recall one of the lyrics being "and your boots will take control". beyond genius.

anybody remember what song motorhead played? was it Iron Fist?

ps - rick spells his name with a silent p. that was actually in consideration as a band name a number of years ago, "silent p".

This show is totally not crap. Exceedingly NOT CRAP. Motorhead performed "Ace Of Spades".

during the "bambi" episode, when the rich girl chimes in during the university challenge and just blurts "I've got a porsche"

Har! Most emphatically NOT CRAP. I learned to understand British English by watching that show!

And how about at the end of "Oil" when Vivian crawls out of the hole in the floor with the pick-axe through his head and says, "I didn't really find oil."

"I can probably get a few quid on the guitar."

And I haven't even seen this show in 10+ years! Best non-animated show ever. The Simpsons, of course, is the best show ever.

Jeez, who voted CRAP? Will we ever get a unanimous vote? How about Actvity: Fucking? CRAP/NOT CRAP???

alright folks, here comes the voice of dissent....

i loved this show at one time and have every episode on tape, and i have a fairly high waffle factor...but i gotta vote CRAP.

1. a lot of the jokes and references seem really specific to early 80s britain, and as an american born in 1981, i just dont know what they're talking about most of the time. there are a ton of pop culture references that have aged really poorly. the rest of the gags were usually really lame.

2. i'm just not a fan of britcoms. even vyvyan, the filthy punk rocker, sounds so proper and polite when he speaks. i just dont find "bloody" to be as good an intensifier as "fucking."

3. the little 'tangent' scenes that had nothing to do with the main gang were soooo boring. there were always like 2 of them per episode and they were just horrible. same goes for most of the stuff alexei/bolofski did.
