Hello.
I just ordered an HDS-6 system for my studio in progress. It won't be here until later this week and drywall is going up sooner than that, so we need to lay all the cable first.
I know that multiple mixers can be hooked up to each other daisy-chained. This would be kind of annoying - we want to be able to plug the mixers into ethernet ports located throughout the studio. This seems to be how it works at Electrical.
The photo of the Alcatraz wall panel shows two sets of ethernet ports. Do the mixers have to be patched back into the panel so that the chain for the whole studio isn't broken?
Or is there some way to mult the signal off of each port so that it continues all the way around the studio regardless of what is patched into each panel?
-Chas.
How is your Furman headphone system wired?
2From Furman's website:
"Additionally, simple paralleling of HDS-6 outputs can be accomplished using appropriate ethernet patch panels to facilitate multi-room installations where daisy-chaining is not practical."
A local repair/installation guy told me to use passive ethernet hubs to split the lines, but I haven't gone looking for them.

3Each panel has a pair of CAT-5 cables running to it. All those CAT-5 cables run into the rack behind the Furman and are all wired in parallel there (using a standard telco 66 style punchblock).
