I got wrecked by a spider or two at work the other night. I seriously recieved about a dozen bites! Gnarly! But there is one bite on my left middle finger on the side of me knuckle. It is huge, and puss-y and swollen. Does anyone know what the cure for this is? Ice? Heat? Pop the puss sack? I dunno either. Please help! it itches!!!!!
thanks

Go to the hospital. Now. Especially if you have a lot of pus. Don't fuck around with spider bites (ever seen what a brown recluse can do to your flesh?).

Definetly go to the Hospital now. Bites from the Brown Recluse can lead to a necrotic wound. (Your skin rotting off.)
...hope it turns out ok.
...and damn if Necrotic Wound wouldn't be a fine name for a band.

Okay, so here is what I did.
I went to the emergency room over at St. Mary's on North. I had to wait for only a minute. The admissions nurse took a quick look and said, and I quote, "You need to see the Doctor, right now!!!" I was all like, "Okay..."
Well, we went into one of the examining rooms and one nurse came by just to do a quick "Initial Assessment." She asked me where all these bite were. I show her both my arms (total:5), my lower back (total:3), the tops of my left leg (another:3) and then the one on my left hand. She told me then that they were all, in fact, spider bites, but spider bites from a common type, like a LongLegs, or whatever, but the one on my hand was from a venomous type. Which one exactly? Dunno at this point, but it was sick to look at. I compare it to that Foo Fighters video where their hands swell and they smack eachother around. Anyhow, it was swollen and felt like burning and sharp, sharp pain. She then told me that the doctor would be right in. He came in with 4 huge and completely full hypodermics. He gave me four sticks right in the ass, two were anti-venom, one was a antibiotic, and the last one was some morphine. After the rush, he took an empty needle and sucked out as much of the vemon as he could. The swelling really didn't go down that much, considering how much shit he took out. I was informed at that time that it was probably a "Brown Recluse" that has a short season up here in the Great North Woods, but are aggressive as heck when they feed. I guess that the venom is getting sent off to "The Lab" for further testing. They will let me know for sure in a few days.
How did this happen????
Well, I work for the City of Milwaukee, DPW-Infrastructure. My correct job title is "Bridge Operator I", which is a "troll" or whatever you want to call me. This past week I've been working the graveyard shift. At about 3.30am, "Taxi" was on. I had the air conditioning on, but I still keep the windows open about an inch or so. Sometimes when the vessel approaches the bridge, they give you a toot to let you know to open for them. So I had the windows cracked a little bit. I dozed off for about 10 minutes or so and woke up to motherfucking spiders crawling all over me body!!! I only saw 2 of them and one of them was huge and sick and hairy and sick... he was the one that got me on the hand. I killed him by default, but the others got away.
SO:
1. Yes they were in groups of three.
2. I work for a municipality/gov't
3. Thanks all for getting me convinced to go to the hospital.
Later!!
