There's a track from the early 90's very poppy, maybe a cover of something might have been on some comp.
Loud drums, a girl singing with him I think maybe.

The only Smog song I can think of with loud drums is "Held" on the album Knock Knock. There's no girl singing on it tho.

I don't know if that's the song you were looking for...but it is a great Smog song on a great Smog album.

The only thing I can think of is Buterflies drowned in wine... especially towards the end...
