i'd say a big no on that one. i'd pick a ton of movies above it, including such greats as A League of Their Own, Police Academy 3 (citizens on patrol), and of course, the true number one of all time, Goonies.

My vote goes to Ishtar. I have emailed the Criterion Collection people demanding this to be the next release for about a year now.

The book is better, and it's not even Nicholson's best 70s performance (Chinatown and The Last Detail win hands down). Barry Lyndon should have gotten all those Oscars.

A fine picture, no doubt, but it's no Taxi Driver (which is probably the best film of the 70's)

As for tallchris' comment; I think this is one of Jack's best, among Five Easy Pieces and the other two he mentioned. For me 5EP and 1FOTCN are tied for 1st place. The Last Detail comes in 2nd. Chinatown...eh, it's ok. Not great. Let's not forget the Shining .

Everyone knows that the greatest movie of all time is "Airplane".

Die Hard is the greatest film ever made. Anyone who says it isnt is lying and possibly a communist.

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest is good, but it bugs me when films leave out a huge detail from the book. In this case, the fact that the Chief actually does have a mental health problem.
