Is anyone here able to give me any kind of feedback on Zon basses because I've been contemplating the possibilities of procuring one of these.

Only things I know about Zon basses...

1) The bassist from Coroner was playing a Zon Scepter (Sceptre?) back in the late 80's and he played super-fast stuff

2) They're expensive as hell

That's all I got for ya. And also I think questions about gear are supposed to go in the Tech Room or something like that.

Can you play it before you buy it? To see if it plays well and sounds good?

they make the Zon Hyperbass, the Michael Manring bass... they are mostly "boutique" basses, with grainy beatiful woods and ridiculous prices. They probably sound beatifully too, but probably not for everyone - and not probably for fans of fender precision basses.
they most economic model (mosaic) costs about 1800.

sometimes the graphite in the neck "collapses" and then the bass sounds like shit.
