Okay, something struck me odd about this thread, so I Googled this guy's username.
Results 1 - 10 of about 122,000 for "bestec-burjuiam". (0.11 seconds)
Every single one is of this bot posting this EXACT news article on a forum. Every one.
What the hell kind of robot is this? Is Cuba mass-spambombing phpBB message boards with assurances that they are prevailing? Who is gaining what by posting the same article on every forum it can over the course of a week?
So freaky.

I spend about 90 minutes a day doing this, and it sucks.
I'm going to try an additional layer of posting nuisance for first-time posters, in the hope that it slows down the bots.
One problem is that viruses infect individual computers, and real account IP addresses are used by trojan horses to spam us. If I ban those IP addresses, the legitimate users can't post.

I'm blown away by the fact that spambots are able to have any political allegiance.
I'm probably not as internet-savvy as most on here, but couldn't you make it requirement to include a picture during setup? The spambots don't seem to have figured that out.

I forget, do you have to do image verification to create an account on this forum (like when you buy tickets at ticketmaster or some other similar fuckers, they show you a picture and you have to write down the series of characters in the picture). I would think that enabling that feature in phbb would stop a lot of spammers.
