TOP 10 Records of this year

so, i'd like to see what some of you think about what makes the top 10 at this point. B/C these lists tend to get out of hand, a couple of rules should apply.

1) the record had to come out in 2006. This does not mean remastered, repackaged and resold in 2006. Instead...new music for the year.

2) the record needs to be REALLY good in your opinion. No picking decent, good or okay records b/c you're trying to fill a quota of 10. It kind of defeats the purpose (i think) of putting in mediocre records that have 1 or 2 great songs on them.

With that in mind, I think it'll be tough to come up with 10 but maybe you all can. Bring it:

Nina Nastasia's record is the best record of the year.

Uzeda's album is completely insane.

Dirty Three's "Cinder" is wonderful--too long, but really great nonetheless.

Arab Strap "The Last Romance" I like a lot-had to listen to it many, many times to enjoy it as I do other albums of theirs', but it's a winner.

And "Fading Trails" by Molina and Co. is wonderful. I love this album. Inconsistent? Yes. Slow at the end? Hell yes. Worth it for the first five songs? Fuck yes.
