I like this band. They have awful guitar sounds, the singer is too posh and the bass player can't play - but the songs come together just right.

not crap, waffles. yeah, they have some crap things, one of the guitarist canĀ“t play i think - i think the bassist is alright, but the songs, sometimes, really work.

pd: that track is not really the most demostrative of the album. and yeah, those guitar sounds suck, but the ones in the album are great!

I really like this lot. The new single sparkles like geeky indiepop diamonds in the chav-hell sand.
Also, I would do the singer.

NOT CRAP.

I can't help but love the Once And Never Again song. Just can't help it.

I find young bands like this hugely depressing.

Young rock and roll should be entirely unintelligible to an old fogey like me, it should not provoke a semi-stifled yawn and a mumbled reference to Elastica.

I read about this lot in the Groiniad the other week and remarked to my wife that the entire article seemed to be about their clothes and boring relationships (there are two stable couples within the band FFS!), and that the music was mentioned only once in passing.

If this is what passes for contemporary glamour then down with glamour.

This is not rock and roll.

Completely lame.

CRAP, :WF: zero.

I love that 'Giddy Stratospheres' song and am partial to a couple of the others (and the posh singer) but the album's a little bit rubbish. Actually, it's just under half rubbish. I think it was rushed and some of the songs sound like they were written in the three hours between getting out of bed and pressing play and record on the cassette recorder.

They're good fun live, though.

Ummmm... Not crap

All proper 'rock and roll' bands are as interested in clothes as much as they are interested in music. Clothes maketh the band. You're not one of those "it's all about the music" head-in-the-sand types.
