ok. i thought pink flag was wires ultimate masterpiece when i came across wire´s peel sessions. in the peel sessions they exhibit a completely different sound and style, much more risky, rich, dark, troubled and complex. this is the best peel sessions ive ever heard. its a truly awesome record

Fuck, man, I need to hear that Peel Session soon. You've gotten me all hot and bothered.

PINK FLAG is so god-like, though, I don't see how anything can rival it.

Sounds like you haven't heard Chairs Missing and 154.

Actually, now that I look at the track listing, I can definitely say that you haven't heard "154" or "Chairs Missing".

Yes, after Pink Flag, they did "exhibit a completely different sound and style, much more risky, rich, dark, troubled and complex".

I bet that Peel Sessions CD will be reissued... $90?

It is great... especially for the exclusive track "Culture Vultures"; and the versions of "I Am the Fly" and "On Returning" there are better than the album counterparts, which is really saying something.

Pretty much anything that's outta print and is on Amazon comes at a ridiculously inflated price. I've seen the CD around for lots less. You just have to keep your eyes peeled at your local record store... I'm sure you'll find a used copy for $7.99 or some such shit...

The rights situation with the Peel Sessions is... complicated, I think; there were intimations that Pinkflag (the label) was working on it for the PF/CM/154 reissue boxset that just came out.

I'm hoping any new Peel Sessions disc would include the recording of Wire at ATP which the BBC have, and their 2002 ("Send") Peel Session, both of which are pretty magnificent.
