So less than a week i've had a motu traveler, and it's going back for repair because it's not working properly!! Has anyone else had problems? It's my first purchase of a motu product and i thought i could rely on such a prestigious company.

Problems happen now and again, I'm sure its nothing personal against you

I got a motu traveler (well my employer, not me but I do feel attached to it) in august and it's doing fine so far. However, we haven't done any location recording with it yet, so far it's stayed in the lab. Motu's a great company, and from what I recall they have an excellent free repair/replacement policy. Most companies don't do that.

my Motu 896HD shat the bed after 7 months of use, and MOTU replaced it for $79.

While I think they have some QC issues with their products (I think the firewire card in the 896 is shitty, to be exact) they are still 10 times better to deal with than Digidesign, who I have said before on this board, are royal pricks.

Not to mention, a working 896HD has pristine A-D conversion for the cost.

I'm not sure where MOTU manufactures their stuff.......actually, I'd like to know.

I do know that when you call you're actually calling people who speak your language and are very familiar with the product. That's when you actually get ahold of them, of course.
