A highschool girlfriend's biggest peeve was when people sang along to the uh-huh-uh part of the Pixie's Tame. I only remembered today when listening to Darkel.

Doesn't bother me in others' songs, but I would never think to include it in my own.

What about you lot? Do you like it/dislike it? Have you ever recorded/performed a song in which you moan/breathe heavily? How awkward was that?

soft cell 'sex dwarf' can get a bit disturbing with all those moaning and groans. the fake orgasm in buzzcock´s 'orgasm addict' is also a classic.

i´d say not crap. but i would never do it - i have a female singer that likes that gainsbourg kind of stuff and i wouldn´t mind recording it, but in a very classy and subtle way.
so yeah, i'm a pussy.

I like the effect on Tame...but I think I've heard that sort of effect used more times in an irritating context. Sort of like the burps and swallowing noises that scar the flow of Tweez. I'm sure it can be done tastefully, but I still lean towards CRAP...you can do it, but it had better be worth it.

Marvin Gaye's "You Sure Love To Ball" would have been better without it. I do think it was necessary for Serge Gainsbourg, though.
