Any pickup can fit into any guitar. The issue is whether or not the pole pieces will line up with the strings.
With a pickup that has a rail, instead of pole pieces, that's not an issue.
Is your question:
Will I need to cut a new pickguard?
Will I have to do any routing?
The answer very well might be yes.
BUT, the pickup will work in the guitar.
The thing is, what's in there is a hot, great pickup. I wouldn't mess with it.
For some reason I'll never understand, those things are going up in value. Two of my friends play them and have added to the profile, but I think it's just because all of the other Gibsons have peaked. That's yet another reason not to mess with it. If the pickup sucked, I'd say why not, but it's awesome.
In fact, even if it's shot, just get it rewound.
Just curious - why do you want to change it?
