Burn to Shine Chicago mic question

I just got the DVD and i have a question. It appears to me that there arenĀ“t overhead mics for the drums, and the toms are captured quite far from the actual drum, and facing somewhat to the cymbals. Is that right? Do those mics are for the cymbals and toms or they are just supposed to pick toms?

Thanks!

Much gear was borrowed. Mic pres included: Millennia, Sytek, Neve and Shea Ako (a local designer). I had my Manley El-Op there and probably used it occasionally on bass or vocal.

Drums: RE20 on bass drum, Shure KSM141 on snare, and a pair of Sony C-37s to get the left and right toms and cymbals.
