Last night, in the recording section:
"What's the difference between 1/4" and XLR?"
"Oh, you lose a ton of high-end with 1/4".
"Oh, thanks! I'll take this XLR cable then."
"The Monster XLR? Good choice. That's $50."
"Hey thanks again for your help!"

Of course he is. Everyone knows that Hi-Z (1/4") cables are specifically made to capture high frequencies.
"That man is a head taller than me.
...That may change."

4I wish I was making it up. I wanted to chase after the customer and educate him a little, but I have to assume he'll figure it out eventually.
Either that, or he'll be a victim of what I call the "Bose Effect":
"Oh man, that guy was right! I TOTALLY hear the lack of high end in this 1/4" cable!"
And then he's unsavable for at least 3 years or so.

7I bought a PA there for my wedding. What a frigging nightmare. Dude was trying to sell me gold tipped Monster speaker cables, saying some bullshit about increased low end with the Monster brand cable. Relentlessly. I told him I was going to make my own. He looked confused.
There was a video playing of Rush on the hanging LCD in the Guitar section, with Geddy Lee playing some new '00 era Rush, really dreadful crap. Guitar-boy asks me if I play guitar. I say yes. He asks me what kind. I say Veleno (this is a lie). He looks confused. He tells me he plays a bad-ass Les Paul Gold Top Reissue. Whoa.
There was also some fat hippie dude in a tie-dyed shirt with curly gray hair playing the electronic drum kit with his hands.
The highlight for me was 13 year old playing the Peavey guitar that you can try out all the pedals with. He's playing the beginning to Battery by Metallica, or trying to. One string is horribly out of tune, but the Boss Chorus pedal is covering it up nicely.
Fuck. Get me out of here.

8Its about time someone took some of these cable companies to court. No one else gets away with pedalling lies like that, why should they?

I just looked in the mirror and I think I finally know why my band never got signed.

They're all the same then. I always get accosted by someone calling me "dude" way too much. This same guy always tries selling me the shittiest things possible. The experience is nearly overwhelming each time.
I also hate the fact that they ask for your name/address when you buy something. Fuck that. II refused last time I was there and they brought out the manager. He was astounded that I didn't want to give them my info. What a bunch of dumbasses.
