cool feature on mogwai disc

sorry if this was already discussed here, but... my roommate just
picked up mogwai's "happy songs for happy people" last week, and he
gave it to me so i could check out the little bonus on it. it has
all of the individual tracks for the song Hunted by a Freak, and
also a demo version of cubase on it, which i'm assuming will allow
you to open up a multitrack session with that song in it and mess
with the individual tracks, levels, eq, whatever.

did everybody already know about that? i've never heard of it
before. i think it's a super-keen idea, and it's a really nice
song, too. the video for it makes me cry. :(

anybody mess around with this before? is there a session that opens
in cubase and has all the tracks in it and everything? even
listening to them one instrument at a time was plenty fun for me.

Yes, I thought it was a really cool idea as well. That kind of thing potentially inspires creativity among people who may never have considered the more technical side of the audio industry. Mogwai has nothing to lose, as the song is already on the CD etc., so it's just a cool move to give fans a chance to play with the individual audio files. It's a great song, too.

Yes, the video is incredibly brutal. Apparently Mogwai didn't commission the video, but someone sent it to them and they liked it so much that they used it. I've only been able to watch the vid once, and I had to hug my dogs and feed some squirrels right afterwards.
