I would like to find an affordable place I can send these 1/2" masters to cut laquers as well as make the digital master for CD manufacturing.

So far I've found nothing.

John Golden is too expensive... So is SAE.

Aardvark will cut Lacquers from 1/2" but have a inferior system to make a digital master.

Any suggestions?

We had a great experience with Trevor Sadler at Mastermind in Milwaukee.
He's quick, pleasant, and fairly priced.

you could try Paul Gold at brooklynphono.com, but his rates aren't too different from John Golden. at least you'll save on shipping since it's local to you.

p.s. here's a better link: www.vinylmastering.net

hey Dave,

I believe rainbo records is cheaper than most. No idea about quality/reliability/etc.

let us know what you end up doing.

Did you guys ever get that "my bloody valentine" band going?

Just spoke with Paul. His rates seem pretty good. And he can do a CD master or a 24bit digital transfer to be mastered elsewhere for little to no extra charge.

It would be nice to drop these off in person.

Got it up and running... twice. Fell apart twice. Looking again for interested participants.

Actually Golden is $210 per side Paul is $165 per side.

Reference laquers are cheaper too... he quotes me at $45 per side.

We'll only be spending around $420 for both LP masters and my Hi-res digital transfer. If I need the CD mastered by him it'll be more.

hope Paul Gold works out for you! try to attend the session if you can, he'll show you all the workings of a lathe/pressing plant. it's pretty neat.
