Okay. I gotta admit it. I love this show. It's prolly a rip of some other program. It's not really a Iron Chef thing. Anyway.
I actually cheered at the friggin' Tee Vee when that shrew-witch Betty got voted off (after Mike won BOTH challenges). I'm-a-rootin' for Mike and the other line cooks. Also like the french girl who's name is currently evading me.
Anyone else watch this thing?

She's not French, she's (I think) Mexican.
I love this show, but I think there is a C/NC on it alreadt.

I know we did
Hell's Kitchen but I haven't found a c/n-c on Top Chef. I love this show. They had
Anthony Bourdain on there for crying out loud.
I feel like this season is pretty much the same characters as last season, but it's still fun. Even though Betty could out-cook me hands-down, goddamn am I glad to see her gone. I like Elia, but I don't know if she's got the management skills to win this thing. She knows her stuff though. I like Mike, but I don't think he's got enough to win it either. Marcel will be here a bit longer because he's the one to hate, but he won't win. I'm pegging Sam as the winner, but Cliff, Ilan and Elia will make him work for it.
As for Elia, you guys are both sorta right. According to Bravo's website,
Elia is from Mexico City but was schooled in France.

PBS had a
Cooking Under Fire marathon during New Year's Day.
The show absolutely shits all over Top Chef - much much more emphasis on the actual cooking and technique and much much less of the silly storylines.

It's funny watching Tony Bourdain doing the rounds on cable TV to promote "No Reservations."
He got a tattoo on "Miami Ink," for crying out loud.

i really really like this show. it's the first reality series I could give a fuck about. the contestants get put in challenging situations and have to come up with something creative, well executed, nice looking and tasting to win. it may be a show based on a reality format, but it has content, whereas most of the other shows in the reality genre are crap. i don't have a problem with bravo focusing in on the personalities of the contestants. this is one angle that I think makes it even better.
good show.

My friend had some funny comments:
Betty = "Soup Bitch"
Marcel = "Character from Dragonball Z"

I personally want either Mike or Marcel to win. Mike because he's such a slob-ish dude that I think it would be funny and Marcel because he reminds me of Teen Wolf.

I'll admit to watching this. I've worked with so many Mikes in my cooking days I want him to win.
That last episode when he won everything, wtf? Go make some pizza shooters dude!

What's with the male members of the cast hating on the little guy so much? I'm sure the guy can get annoying, but I don't think that warrants a bunch of bigger jocks threatening to beat the guy's ass at every turn.
I kind of wish Ilan would lose. Fast.
Guessing Sam and Elya (sp?) will make it to the end.
Also, I've been looking for that Beef Duo recipe from last season. Can anyone point me to a link?
