Here's my question:

Are there any authorized or unauthorized videos of the Jesus Lizard that I can find anywhere? I am absolutely obsessed with this band right now. There is no doubt in my mind that they were the greatest rock band ever, and everyone keeps saying how great they were live, but I'm only 24 and was not able to see them perform. I feel like I need to see some video of their performances so I can put faces to the music.

Honestly, I can't believe how amazing this band was. Pure magic. Duane is my hero.

Can anyone help me out with any information regarding this need I have? Thanks.

Edit: I've seen the few things on YouTube, but I'm talking about vidoes of full performances from 1988-1993, when they reigned supreme over everyone before or since.

Yes, there's definately footage out there. Some really fantastic, some not so great as with any band. I've got one from somewhere in Texas that's the best I've ever seen of them. The video is great, the audio is great, and you get to see some douchebag purposely plow into Duane's rig and promptly get the shit kicked out of him by everyone within punching range.

Was Show accompanied by footage? This link hints at some being available (edit: well, existent).

I was lucky enough to see them in Manchester around 1994/95. This was one of the best shows that I've ever been to. My brother had a bright orange "Orange" JSBE top on, and as soon as he came on stage, Yow pointed to him and went, "Nice T-shirt, sonny."

Not much of a story, but it meant something to us. A while later, I saw someone pulling Yow's hair as he lay horizontal on the crowd. I went down in a wave, came up again, and the guy who'd pulled his hair was making apologetic hand gestures to accompany Yow's chastising finger and the blood pouring down his (hairpuller's) face. During "Rabid Pigs", if memory serves.

Someone that posts here was putting together a DVD with the blessing of both the band and T&G. I wonder how that's coming along.

yup, metro. only time I ever seen them. it was alright, as far as metro shows go. yow spent about 95% of the show out surfing the crowd. getting progressively more naked as the night went on, with help from both the crowd and himself. I was very glad to be off to the side and not underneath. I don't think I would've even gone for that as a kid.

the music was tight.

I don't think that show would make an interesting video, though. unless you're looking for yow's cock, there wasn't a whole lot to see. maybe some twirling/flipping of drumsticks.

is there any good yow footage on that pigface video they shot at the metro? that one would probably make for more interesting visuals. although honestly I don't even remember if he played with them that night.
