I can't type anything meaningful about him without using an unnecessary number of four-letter words, thus I won't.

CRAP. :WF: n/a.

If he'd quit 4 years ago: Not Crap
Now : Crap

Compared to Thatcher & Major and the thought of a Tory Government: Not Crap.

Due to his associations with: Bush - Crap
His wife, Cherie - Crap

The Guardian is saying that he will be forced to quit if his top-aide is charged.

Blair likely to quit if aides charged in loans inquiry

Anyone, catch the trial of Tony Blair?

Jolly good I thought.

Think he probably meant well but then went crazy. Unable to deal with the consequences of his actions. That's what you get for having religious types in office. God told him to do it you know. Good to know he listens to God more then 'the people'. Fucking cunt should have been guillotined long ago.
That parliament has been so totally ineffective in opposing him over the last four years is something should shame us all.

I missed it due to work stuff, but I'll see if I can catch it elsewhere. I've been a fan of Robert Lindsay since his barnstorming G.B.H. performance.

From initial respect, I've grown to hate Blair over the past four years. I agree that he strongly believes that what he is doing is right, and I find this lack of doubt chilling and abhorrent. He will never apologize for the catastrophes that he has taken part in. And I find the barely sublimated machismo with which he has yielded the military disgusting. He has enjoyed playing with soldiers and talking tough whilst never having been in danger himself, and he has done this without sufficient care or even humility.

Anyone have the dull misfortune to see The Queen? I've never seen such a hagiographic tribute to a craven, bumbling asshole (Blair). The portrayal of Blair is obscene in its sycophancy, with the O' So Human British Royals as foil to the jerk's supposed liberal-populist charisma. Ah, the irresistible charms of the ruling elites. Jolly good bullshit.

The papers here went pretty crazy about The Queen, which suggests a vestige of odd fixation with our rulers, probably mixed up with Brittania Rules the Waves nostalgia. Otherwise, I really could not see the attraction of the film for so many.

I'm not a big fan of art based around the aristocracy due to knee-jerk meanness. I'm well aware that this cuts out a large chunk of classic literature, but I find it hard to sympathise and get involved. An exception is the film of The Leopard, which is magnificent.
