I'm looking to upgrade my overheads. I record drums in a small dead room big enough to fit the drums and have a little bit of spare room.
I'm currently using the Oktava MC-012 and have gotten fairly good results but i'm definitely looking to up the ante a bit.
cheers
Drum Overheads for a dead room!
2I dont know if this is fair, but in my experience the room has more affect on the sound then the mics, provided you arent using complete crap mics (which you are not). You could try finding some cheap linoleum somewhere and putting it under the drums for character, but in a really small room it could create unwanted chaos. Either way its a solid experiment.
