3WTF. I fell completely in love in (not: with) this town. It's true. She ran a choir workshop in the Community Arts Centre, in Downtown Eastside. I went along every day, and got to learn a lot about the city. I even partook in a demo calling for better protection of Vancouver's prostitutes (many of whom are Native American), in the wake of the arrest of Robert Pickton.
Lots of fucked up things about it, as harbor towns go, but ultimately a good place that is easy for Europeans to feel at home in.

4My brother-in-law and his wife and their baby live there, so I guess I'll get to see it in the next couple of years.
Sounds fab.

5It's my second choice for best city in North America.

6I've lived in Vancouver from the start. It went downhill after Expo '86. Bloody expensive rent. Good looking women are plentiful but they tend to be of the fembot variety. Access to nature (North Shore) is a plus but at this point , I'd rather live somewhere with a little more character. When Shellac played here, Steve snarkily called it 'Cosmopolitan'. Why not come for a visit anyway?

7Well, it certainly looks beautiful. But I suppose I know absolutely nothing about it.

10Perhaps it has changed in the last decade or so, but when I lived in the NW, we thought it was a beautiful city that completely closed at 6:00 P.M.
