real scientific test... are you deaf?

i just made this up while i was taking a shit, so i know it's scienticious.
take a piece of 2-ply toilet paper (you DO use 2-ply, DON'T YOU?) and separate the two plies from each other. take one of the plies, and tear it in half. take that half, and tear it in half again. take the result of this, which is a one-quarter section of one ply of toilet paper. crumple it into a ball, VERY LOOSELY, not at all tight, you want it to be just as loosely in ball shape as you can possibly get it, where it's treading the line between a vaguely-round shape and flatness.
drop it from about 2' up, onto the tile floor. if you can hear it, you are certainly not deaf.
consider also your ambient noise. for this particular scienticious test, the only two ambient noises were the ringing in my ears, and the buzzing of a fluorescent light, the latter being noticeably louder, though not staggeringly so. if you got trucks and fans and shit, this test will not produce valid, scienticious results.
if you wanna get to insane testing, take a single square of 2-ply toilet paper, and DON'T crumple it up at all, just drop it. i could only hear that maybe 1/2 or 1/3 of the time, which had to do with how it landed. if it landed roughly flat, i couldn't hear jack. if it landed mostly on its edge, i could hear it, though very faintly. consider that one as extra credit.
okay, yeah, really i just want everybody to think of me next time they take a shit, so what?!?!?
cheers
