so, I usually use DR .1 -.46 strings.
the other day I had to get a couple of sets and the guitar store where out of them (couldn't try somewhere else cause they are the only store that sells them where I live).
anyway, I ended up getting some d'addarios. They are fucking shit. Not only do they rust really quickly but they have really dull harmonics compared to the DRs that ring on forever. D'Addarios also have shit sustain while the DRs are real nice, and the difference in tone is worth noting as well (the d'addarios are really dull by comparison).
what strings do others recommend?

2Every other plain steel d'addario string has the ball fall off.
DR are good.
I like GHS too.

3Stick with the DRs. The 11-50s are nice on shorter scale guitars.
Ernie Balls will do when I can't get DRs.

5Trying some EB strings on the bass, I always try something different out of curiosity.

6i stick w/ dr's. for bass and guitar.
hi-beams on bass.
and i forget what on guitar.
and people, keeping your hands clean before you play guitar goes a long way towards string life.
don't eat cheetoh's, play guitar, and then wonder why your strings feel/sound like shit.

Hahaha. Words to live by.
D'addarios arent that horrible, however, I'm going to stop buying them. They are frustrating to put on, because they love to break as you wind them, and if you don't have any spare strings laying around, you're fucked. They also don't last very long from my experience.
GHS strings are damn good. I think they shall remain my string brand of choice from now on.
