2It is fun. This one is in the desert again. You are on a resort that has golf, tennis, horseback riding and swimming. It is 100 degrees in the shade but it's dry heat. Evenings get down to about 65. This is all farenheit by the way. As a dumb American I don't know the Celsius equivlent. They have shuttle buses to the downtown events. All the people that will be there are very cool and fun.
If you want groceries that aren't expensive and are more then bags of chips and bottles of soda rent a car so you can go to the store. Otherwise you're fine on the resort. Their restaurants are pricey too and walking through the desert to get to a store won't be fun.
Golf was fun and reasonably priced, but do it early before the heat.

4I wore pants the whole time because I didn't sweat due to it being so dry. It's still fucking hot in the daytime though.
One of my favorite moments was sitting by the pool and having them bring me beers to my recliner.

5It's a good time, and you get plenty of time in Tucson proper, which is pretty cool.
I'll be there. On a panel again. If I weren't, I'd go anyway. It's a fine time.
If you are getting there early or staying late, stay one night at Hotel Congress. So cool, this place.
There will be music there as part of the Con.

6I went once. It was great fun but the whole trip cost me more than the distressor that I wanted to buy at that time.
Now that I'm more or less responsible for running a recording studio I might not be able to attend again and my girlfriend would kill me if I went on a holiday to Arizona without her.
Have fun - you Tape Op Con attenders.

8By the way, I've been a panelist for all but the first one so it hasn't cost me anything to get into the conference, which is nice. This summer I am getting married so I won't make it and I am bummed about that. If you can swing it, go. It's like audio summer camp.

9I'm pretty sure I'm going to go again. I had a great time at it every time, but especially last year. The resort in Tucson is really suited to meeting lots of new people as opposed to being in a city, where everybody drifts around the town.
Plus they've got a waterslide. Done deal.

You were sweating. It was just so hot that it instantly evaporated.
