I need a boring favour for which I'd be hugely grateful.

I need to know if Postbank (the German bank) would charge you a fee (assuming that you banked with Postbank in Germany) if you received a foreign transfer made by SWIFT (the foreign transfer mechanism, might be refered to as IBAN).

I'm guessing that it says on their website, but the stuff to do with current accounts is in German that's way too advanced for me...

no, they don't charge anything for a bank transfer to a current account. however, there is a bank in between the bank you're sending the cash from and the receiving one but your bank must be able to tell you what they will charge for the transaction.

It´s just not as popular around here yet. But it will be, probably.

Actually, our exacting nature forbids us to use third parties in money transfer issues. Also, I hate having a couple of cents on my paypal account because of the exchange rate.
