Much ado has been made on this forum about Jazzmasters and Jaguars and Travis Beans and such, but it would seem* that a certain other badass vintage guitar has largely eluded such a level of praise and holy grail-like status at EA.
Of course, I speak of the Mosrite.
Despite the fact that they have been used by the Ramones, and of course the Ventures, and command very high prices (fuck, even the Univox copies aren't cheap at all), it seems like nobody in the EA world is into them much.
I, however, consider them to be one of the radder guitar designs out there. Plus, Semie Moseley was never afraid to try crazy shit.
* Expecting a Kerbling any minute. Please be advised: I used the search function.

I had Ventures Model Serial #108, but I sold it when I was in college. Great guitar. I was a fan of both the Ramones and the B52s. I wish I still had it.

If I had money to throw in a canal, I'd buy an Acoustic Black Widow, as manufactured by Mosrite. It is (to me) the most
perfect shape for an electric guitar. It also has (I think) a 27" scale neck, which is pretty snazzy.
Maybe I should attempt to build one...
NOT CRAP.

Way, waaaaaayyyy overpriced...but if you had the money and got it (very relatively) cheap, then totally. It's a great guitar, though fragile. As Johnny Ramone said, "Mosrites are not made out of wood. They are made of very good cardboard."

Definitly overpriced but I have a late 60's Venture's Mosrite model bass that is beat to shit that I love to death.
The neck is becoming rather bowed so I think I need to get the fretboard steamed off to get the truss rod reset.

An old bandmate of mine had a leopard-print Venture. It was beautiful - in every way. Well worth the insane amount of money he spent on it some 20+ years ago. F. What are they going for now?
Gunna google it.

i played one of those univox copies of a mosrite shortscale bass. high flyer maybe? It played and felt really nice but i play with a pick and that doesn't jive with it, I kept hearing click click click ever time my pick touched the pickup.

They're absurdly overpriced.
How can they not get love on EA, that's one of the two body shapes that Kevin uses for the EGC500 guitars!?!?!
I've played the Univox Hi-Flier bass, which was super-cheap (like $150 with hard case) and does a fine job.
The actual Mosrite guitars are just way overpriced. WAAAYYYYYY overpriced.
