wondering if there is any notable diffrence between miking a straight cab versus a slant cab?

I've always believed that a slant cab was for the players benifit, it being made as the top half of a full stack.

it is.
it slants so that the top two speakers point at your head, not your crotch.
and keep mic placement relative to the speaker not the cab or just use a bottom speaker.
