Didn't Alice once stand for Mayor of somewhere, under the slogan of "A troubled man for troubled times"?
I'm not a fan of his, but for that alone, he deserves kudos. I'd vote for pretty much anyone standing on that ticket. (Ironically, possibly not Alice, but hey - nobody said being iconoclastic was going to be easy)

I must give props to Cooper for being the first, but:
Alice Cooper's music was boring.
Alice Cooper is conservative in real life.
Marilyn Manson's first album or two had some legitimate industrial rock goodness.
Manson has said some real shit, while Cooper doesn't rock the boat.
But:
Cooper's got a better voice.
Hmmm I'm going to have to go with Manson even though he is a type of fashion model. The music was better and the ideas were too. Cooper is the O.G. but so was Ice T and his shit was pretty terrible until Bodycount.

The Alice Cooper Band did some of the best hard rock in the '70s, and some of the weirdest rock in the '60s.
"Marilyn" is absolute shite. Have you ever listened to "Pretties for You",
"Easy Action", "Love it to Death"?
So, he's a Conservative. He's also a pretty decent guy from what I've heard.
Tons of great songs, an original act, excellent band.

Love it to Death is one of my very favorite albums.
Every song is great.
Killer is a very good album.
Billion Dollar Babies, very good.
I don't know that much about Marilyn Manson.

I've never liked this attitude (not on you Boomy, but in general). So what? Are you ever gonna meet the guy in person and talk politics? Would you hate a band whose music you really enjoy based on their personal politics?
Not harpin' on ya, you gave other reasons for your opinion and that's cool, just sayin' is all.
Cooper by a landslide for me. Saw him almost two years ago with Cheap Trick.....holy fuck he and his band put on a great show. I still need the first two albums and
Muscle Of Love.
Killer is my fave.

Well I'd expect a dinosaur like zom-zom to rush to Cooper's defense. He probably blew your mind and you can't get over it. Get over it. Your opinions are so generation-based it's ridiculous.
Yeah of course Manson is shite. So is Cooper. That shit is vaudeville log with corn nuggets. Cooper probably had better musicians but as I said, that shit was boring. The only "theatrical" band I have any patience for is GWAR because they could back the stage stuff up with sick songs
ala America Must Be Destroyed.
Yeah Cooper seems like a decent dude but so does Manson if you actually hear him talking to cool people. When he's on MTV he's naturally going to be douchey, that's his job. I avoid all the music though, it gives me gas.
