argh, one of the banes of my existence is that I never saw them live, although I was definitely into them during various stages of their activity. Bought Tweez on Jennifer Hartman because, y'know, there were some ex-Solution Unknown guys in the band. This famous show:

was about a year before I started going to shows (though I'm not sure if they actually played due to the tornado warning).

I do have two bootlegs, though. One is a semi-official recording (mic?) made at the Bangkok Bangkok restaurant, Chicago, 1987 and features "Washer" sans vocals and one unreleased/unnamed song. I'm not sure when/where the other one dates from, and the sound quality ain't so hot.

what, has nobody here ever seen slint live? or were they really bad live and nobody wants to say it? i'm gonna lose an argument elsewhere if i don't have a single person saying that slint live was good. cause i got somebody claiming that based on their extensive bootleg collection, slint couldn't play live. and i just don't buy it. so c'mon, stories of them rocking, please!

They were fab, and as good as you would think they would be. I saw them at the Thai restaurant and in someone's basement (Evanston, Il?)...I knew Slint would be a band I would measure other bands against for a long time, wish I had some of those bootlegs.

I saw them in Boston at the Middle East with 10 others people. They were playing Tweez stuff only (but it was a long time ago...maybe there were some post-Tweez songs).

I remember that Britt was really sick. And at one point during a song he sort of fell forward onto his drums...like he passed out for a few seconds...then he sat back up and continued playing.

The music was like nothing I had ever heard. I don't recall thinking that they were bad at all.

I then bought Tweez.

probably not a hoax but a classic case of ATP gun-jumping.
