Neil Young and Jawas, WTF?

I've been watching the shit out of old Neil Young w/Crazy Horse videos lately. There's this one show where they've got fucking Jawas (from Star Wars, those little robed shits with the glowy eyes) crawling around behind those retarded prop amps he has. This is really baffling to me. I mean, what the fuck was he going for there? Neil Young! What a fucking weirdo!

This may have been from his film Human Highway...but I might be wrong. It was badly panned if I'll recall...since it didn't make a bit of sense...

Dylan also had a film called Renaldo & Clara that made about zero sense...I've never seen that one though.

Where'd you see the Neil movie?

I don't see how it's baiting. I was honestly completely ignorant to the video's existence until recently if that's what you mean. Sorry if everyone else in the world has seen it and I just didn't know that.

No offense.. it's just that it's one of his more
popular records, so I'm surprised when someone
hasn't heard about it. You can find the DVD cheap... at
Target or elsewhere usually for $12... and it's well worth
it... he does two sets, one acoustic and one electric.
The DVD has more songs than the CD, so I'd go for that,
though I believe the CD has a few overdubs that the movie
doesn't have. It's from 1977, widely considered Young / Crazy
Horse's heyday.

I knew about the record. I just didn't know it had an accompanying film. I'm a shitty fan of music I guess. :)

Still, him just throwing in this Star Wars theme to his show seems a bit unbefitting or out of place, or something.

The "jawas" are called Road Eyes. I think they represent "rust" ie. apathy, despair, forces of mediocrity - always trying to eat away at the progress of artistic (and personal, maybe?) bravery. That's why they attack and carry away the Devo chap. They reflect the themes of the album (in particular Hey Hey, My My).

I mean, they just look like jawas, so what the fuck.
