The white mushroom, macrocybe titans, measured a towering 70 cm (27 in) tall, was found near Tapachula, near the Guatemalan border, according to the Southern Border University Center. "[/url]

There is also such a thing as a Colossal Squid.

2I have to go with the ancient Giant Penguin (recently discovered). There was already a thread on this...and there's a great picture on National Geographic illustrating the size of these fuckers...but alas, I couldn't post that picture here.
Luckily, I was able to find this...which I imagine is a fair representation of these once majestic creatures:

3I demand to know what the fuck the squid are up to. Think about it: they are a mystery and near-legend for centuries, and all of a sudden now they start surfacing more often? What the eff is going on? A giant squid recently just randomly washed up on an Australian beach.
Something is up and i want to know what it is. Global Warming? Atlantis rising from the ocean floor? The marinara trench has finally become too filled with tomatoey sauce to sustain life?
Or are the squids planning a surface invasion?

10One needs no more proof that this is a classy bunch of people beyond the fact that nobody has made a weenus joke.
Yet.
One of my favorite huge things is that gigantic amp that the Green (Orange) company made in the 70's. Someone posted a photo of one here awhile ago and I've dreamed about it ever since.
