Robert Downey, Jr. *is* Tony Stark.

That photo isn't working...

I saw Rupert Everett on tv last night and thought he'd make a decent Stark, physically anyway.

Do you think they're going to go into the alcoholism aspect? It would have a nice ring to it, with Downey having had the issues with heroin etc.

I hope someone decides to make Captain America. Not sure who I'd cast though.

I put the photo on my flickr account and changed the url to that. Hopefully it works now.

I actually think i've seen interviews where they said Downey was specifically perfect for the role because of his appearance and his history with addiction. I dunno if they'd cover the alcoholism in the first movie, but in a sequel? Definitely.

I hope the Captain America movie is smartly done and not just a piece of crap jingoism.

It all depends on whether or not John Cena is cast as Captain America.

Does that mean that the centre of his shield would spin 'round?

It'd be better if they went the Civil War pro-civil liberties angle somehow. I'm not sure how that uniform could possibly look un-cheesy in a film, but it'd be a great character to see brought to life if it was done well.

I wonder if they'll start bringing all this stuff together sometime in the future and do the Avengers or something? We'll need something to watch on the moon.

I was browsing a local bookstore's selection of used back issues, and ran into this old gem from my youth:

I didn't really think about it back then, but now it occurs to me that alcoholism was a pretty heavy topic for an 8-year-old kid like me to read about, especially when his dad was one. Pretty crazy.
