Listen to the song "knives" from UK band Therapy?
(which by the way was rather a hit, you can find it on the album "Troublegum" from 1994)
Now listen to Tar's song "Walking the King On A Transfer" which can be found on the album "Jackson" from 1991
i say it's clearly a rip off.

Therapy? ripped off more than Tar. Andy Cairns admitted that their early stuff reeked of Hüsker Dü and The Undertones (and it did), and after "Nurse", they really became a very dull jun-jun (it's phonetic, say it out loud) metal band. Fyfe's departure was the last nail in their credibility coffin.
I still like "Teethgrinder" though.
I like "jun-jun". I think I'll add it to common English usage. That's another thread lost to grammatical discussion...

Ah yes, the "Walking the King On a Transfer" medley...
While we're on the subject, try comparing sections of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By the Way" to "Topless Mindless Senseless" from Over and Out, and tell me Tom shouldn't get a little something for the effort there.
Not that we were above a reinterpretation here and there ourselves. Compare Walking the King to Beethoven's 5th Symphony (I think we're safe from the royalty police there...). Elsewhere buried on Jackson can be found the theme from the movie Halloween, and the bass line from "This Charming Man."
