AKG 414 clips

1
Anyone have a recommendation for a clip to fit a 414 ULS? Both mine have the lame shockmount, which is rather too bulky most of the time. The official AKG clips are about $150/£70 and swivel every which way. I just want a normal clip with a clamp small enough to fit on the mic. The smallest AKG SA is too long, as is the smallest Beyer MK. The little metal clips that come with the Oktava MK012 would be great but the jaws don't open wide enough to get over the rim at the bottom of the 414.

Who uses what?

The AKG SA40 should work fine, as long as the tab on the XLR connector is in the open area of the clip. I use those clips all the time for Audio-Technica 4033/4047, which have similarly short mic clip mounting areas, and have never had any problem. The XLR connector will partially fit into the clip, which, since it's locked to the mic, will extend the 'clippable' area.

I don't have the SA60 clip, which is the version now available, but would guess that it's the same size.

Thanks Tim.

I've used those in the past too, I was hoping for something that would give me full rotatability. I just can't see anything made by any of the major manufacturers thats short enough...

Ah well, keep looking I suppose...

Daniel.
