Rick Rubin vs. Gene Simmons

Rick Rubin has had more involvement with records I have liked through the years than Gene Simmons ever has or is likely to have, from Reign In Blood right up to that Neil Diamond one. Maybe he doesn't do much and is the anti-Steve, but I'm still intrigued enough to want to know what the new Metallica album will sound like after giving not a fuck about anything they've done for years. The likelihood of me listening to Kiss, ever, at all, is minimal; I don't know what else Mr Simmons is involved with apart from sticking his tongue out.

C'mon, at least Rubin seems to have some good intentions. Simmons is a frat-douche.

Rubin is a pretentious assmuncher, but he doesn't come close to Simmons in terms of ego-blinded idiocy.

There's no way in hell Rick Rubin is a bigger douchebag than Gene Simmons.

I actually enjoyed the piece on Rubin in today's NYT's magazine. At least it paints Rubin as a man who really cares for music. I think even Simmons himself would admit he cares more about $$ than music.
