ok, you've got maybe six good albums out of how many? 15? 20? that is a shit average.

you're not as good a singer as you think you are, your lyrics are mostly fucking stupid as all hell, and teaming up with green day and sum 41 doesn't make you hip to a younger audience. you've pretty much sucked since 1977. that's 30yrs of albums not nearly as good as the ones from the first eight years of your career. also, you're always way too damn loud in the mix, live or recorded.

balls to you, iggy, you're not that cool. you peaked almost 40 years ago.

But everything after SELL OUT is wimpy, dorky, over-produced anthem-pop. Can't stand it!

True. Quadrophenia is overrated. There's just not enough meat for a double there. I love Tommy and Who's Next, but I'll give you that they lost it after that. Live at Leeds and Sell Out are my favorites too. Though that may change once I hear the debut.

Mine? Lou Reed. Jesus, help me to find the proper album in this morass of a catalog to equal anything he did with the Velvets. Anything. I love Transformer, but to compare it to anything the Velvets did is to make a bad joke, and Berlin is sunk with Bob Ezrin's horrible pomposity, and Magic and Loss bored the snot out of me. I mean, based on this shit, do I even want to go any further in discovering this contrary bastard's solo stuff? Cause it's just been disappointing as hell. They say that The Blue Mask is decent...help here?

SInce Lou Reed was taken, ho 'bout ZAPPA. Pretty interesting guitar player, for sure, but c'mon, those jokes stopped being funny in the 8th grade. Adn write an actual song, yer not avant like yer buddy Don, yer just kinda silly and immature.

I couldn't do without 'Metal Machine Music'.

That is a great album, largely because of Robert Quine's participation. Beautiful guitar tone.

Maybe I'm close minded, but Metal Machine Music, and the Velvet Underground are all I really want to hear out of Lou Reed. Transformer's alright, but it seems like he lost something.


My gripe/sacred cow is with "classical music". For every ten people that tell me "Oh, you should hear (insert beat to death famous composer)", only one or two point me towards something really special and up my alley, like John Cage, La Monte Young, Schoenberg, Shostakovich. GIVE IT A REST. It's like when someone keeps recommending Kraftwerk when what I need is Tangerine Dream. I love Kraftwerk, just keep in mind.
