5 or 6 seasons of brilliance (with 8 seasons of dead horse uh oh what wacky stunt is homer doing now flogging to follow) versus 4 seasons of quite-clever-but-just-not-funny for me.
simpsons, by a country mile, so I'm voting CRAP

Futurama. A lot more focus on character development and as a result i like them (the characters) much more.
I'm really looking forward to
Bender's Big Score.
I only found just recently that Al Gore's daughter was one of the main writers. Weird.

Simpsons seasons 2-7 is probably the best television show I've seen thats not related to the BBC. Some episodes make me laugh hard even though I've probably seen them upwards of twenty times (Mr Plow, Barts Friend Falls in Love, Last Exit to Springfield) and others are weirdly affecting.
Futurama has funnier characters and a handful of really, really great episodes and although when it was 'on' it was probably as funny as the Simpsons there were just too many terrible episodes and lame parodies to make it comparable. I'm looking forward to the movie, though. I think it'll rule. My main objection to futurama is that its not really like a sci-fi program, just at office comedy with parodies of movies and a few robotic/mutant characters. If you made it like star trek/wars with everyone on Zapp's ship as they go to a new planet every week, it would be immeasurably improved. Rather than the lame conceit that people doing mundane things in wacky ways is funny, because its the comedy future and things are weird.

So we're voting C/NC on deciding if we like one better than the other?
Futurama is great. But for a handful of seasons Simpsons are just fucking untouchable. The winner would be clear-cut if the Simpsons didn't take a dive. They did, so the competition is close, but I still gotta give it to the Simpsons.

Simpsons by a landslide, I'm not at all a fan of Futurama.

They are both not crap.
Shouldn't this be a thunderdome, not a crap/not crap?
