I have both a mig 100 and a jcm 800. They both are pretty rad. I think it is funny how much both of those amps go for these days...

I have a Sovtek Mig 100. I think I ordered it to Richard's Music in Lawrence, KS sometime in 96. There are a lot of inconsistencies with these amps. I have seen multiple versions of the same model. I don't know how long Sovtek made them. 4x5881 and I don't remember what's in the pre amp section. Mine came with all plastic jacks and switches which broke within a couple years. I have seen models that came with more durable hardware on it also. I don't think it sounds like a Marshall at all. I would like to get all the jacks and switches replaced though.

The MIG 60 is an even better choice-- cheaper, plenty of juice for most rooms, but limited just enough that you can crank it and get some nice power section crunch. Anyone I knew who had one swore by it.

I've had mucho amps over the years, including a Mig 100 and currently have an excellent sounding '77 Marshall JMP MKII 50 that I'm going to sell to buy a motorcycle, or maybe some pants. Won't sell the 60s. They are the tops. I think I paid a combined price of about $600 for both of the 60s. They go for more now, but still a bargain. They're basically a one trick pony, but OH WHAT A TRICK!

I notice in the EA equipment list that you guys have pretty much all the Sovtek amps but for the combo's and the Mig-30. Is there a specific reason for this? Maybe you just didn't like it? I ask because I use a Mig-30, and i'm wondering what your opinion is on them..

I absolutely love it, fwiw. More than once I heard they're the best of the lot, even Mike favors them. http://www.gearwire.com/snamm08-electro ... ew004.html I want a 50 now too, love these amps.
